How To Ditch Distracted, Angst-Drenched, Spiritually-Scattered Living And Step Into Continuous Prayer And Joy

Hi there, I'm Sam.

On this page I'm going to give you a crash course in how to live a radically different kind of life than the distracted, mentally scattered, always-feeling-spiritually-worn-out one you are statistically likely to be living right now if you are a Christian in the West.
Contrary to most, I believe that you and I are NOT destined to feel depleted in our day-to-day lives; but we can train ourselves to live every moment consciously in the presence of God, and this will cause His peace and power and joy to wash through us as constantly as waves crashing onto the shore.
If you want a much deeper dive into how to live this life, sign up for my newsletter. There’s a free, weekly, “overview” version here. And there’s a paid, 5-times-a-week, deep-as-it-gets version here.
Before I give this crash course, I believe my words are worthless if they don’t facilitate an encounter between you and God. So let’s pause and would you pray with me:
“God, open my ears. Still my heart. Speak. Toss aside any ideas that aren’t of You. I want no part in them. All I really want is more of You. So read with me. Speak to me. Pull me closer to You as I read. Thank You.”
Awesome now let’s dive in:
R.I.P.
The center of this different approach to life is:
R.I.P.
That stands for "Remain In Prayer." But it also signals a kind of death:
Death to making decisions on your own.
Death to solving problems on your own.
Death to working on your own.
Death to thinking on your own.
Death to the old way of life where it was you trying to figure out how to take care of yourself and the people you love, on your own.
How do you do this?
By "R.I.P." - "Remaining In Prayer".
How often?
All the time.
... No but really, without exaggerating, how often?
All the time. Every minute of every day. While you're talking to other people and while you're working on the computer.
The goal of "R.I.P." is to shift how you as a person operate... so that the very process of your thinking changes, and it is no longer you "thinking thoughts to yourself"... but rather you having a quiet "conversation with God in your head" all the time.
You never "turn away from God" and revert back to "thinking thoughts to yourself"... you think all your thoughts to God and with God.
